Suillus pallidiceps Smith & Thiers Cap 3-8cm across, round then convex and flatter; whitish then becoming pale yellow and darkening to cinnamon; smooth, very sticky and glutinous, becoming somewhat patchy beneath the gluten in age. Tubes adnate to decurrent; yellow, darkening slowly with age. Pores small; pale yellow. Stem 10-20 x 12-16mm, solid, bulbous at base; white, with edges of worm holes staining dirty yellow. No veil. Flesh white then yellow. Odor not distinctive. Taste not distinctive. Spores ellipsoid, 8-11 x 3.5-4.2µ. Deposit pale cinnamon. Habitat gregarious under pine. Rare. Found only in Idaho, as far as I know. Season July-October. Edibility not known.
